So, I just recently purchased my first home, and I'm really tight on money for furniture. I'm looking for a TV stand, and a dining room table, and maybe some home decor? It's just my boyfriend and I, we don't have any animals or small children so the quality doesn't really matter, it's just for looks.
In Australia we have a website called 'freecycle'. People put up items that are still okay but that they don't want anymore. There is no cost but you have to go and collect. the freecycle site has different areas so you don't have to travel far. See if there is something like that where you live.
If you want cheap, look in local stores, not on line. the freight and delivery charges will eat up any savings when you try to buy online from out of state. If you are on a budget, look in the overstock and "scratch and dent" room of major furniture stores. Often you can get great deals on stuff with minor scratches or barely noticeable flaws -- even just items that have been discontinued. and Craigslist is great for furniture on a budget, also house sales especially when people are moving. also, if you don't feel like buying used, Target stores have decent items like you say you need : small tables, cabinets and decor. also check "big Lots" stores -- most of the larger ones have quite a bit of furniture. my local one actually got a whole shipment of furniture and decor items from Pier One that they were selling for half the original cost.
And if there is an IKEA store anywhere in your region, it would be worth a trip to pick up what you need. Hard to get anything cheaper than IKEA,
Craigslist is a good place to look.. You can save on shipping that way. also, Goodwill and some other thrift stores usually have furniture.
well it depends what you call cheap...
overstock.com is where I got my couch for my first home... I was really wanting this one that was about 1300 and found it on there for 700..so that was cheap to me but to most that isnt the case..
have you thought about buying used from a fleemarker or somewhere? locally..then you wouldnt have to pay shipping which wil be over 100 for a couch..
I'd go to Ikea for this... it looks good, but not the highest quality... sound like exactly what you need.
Where can I get VERY cheap furniture online? I don't care about the quality.?
