When did your little one…?

get their first goose-egg, pop-knot, bump, or whatever you want to call it on the head?? what did they do that caused them to get it?

Dallas got his first one last night...when I was feeding him supper (had not had a nap ALL DAY LONG) he started dozing off about the last few bites of his food and bumped his head on the table...he fussed some but he was ok...so when he got through eating I took him and we sat down in the rocker and I gave him his bottle...

Then when we got ready to sit down and eat I decided to just put him on the floor in the dining room with some of his toys so we could eat that way if he wanted to play he could or he could just topple over and fall asleep...well, he saw that we were eating and started crawling over there to us...got to my chair and started to pull up, his hand slipped and his head hit part of the chair (solid oak) and he went to screaming...about 10 minutes later he had this HUGE goose-egg on the side of his head which made me feel really bad b/c I was trying to prevent that by NOT putting him in his booster chair where he could bump his head on the chair or the table...

Its much better this morning...it went down during the night...I figure by the time we get to grandma and grandpa's house (first time that they will see him) he will probably have a bruise on his head...yay...but for now though it has gone down and there is just a small bump and red spot there...

BTW, doctor looked at it today and said it was fine when I took him in b/c of a skin irritation (turned out to be excema)...

So when did your little one get their first bump on the head and what actually caused it??

I'm actually not sure when Landon had his first goose egg. He has had so many it's hard to keep track. when he was first learning how to sit up and crawl he would fall over and hit his head on the hardwood floors a lot. when he was 11.5 months old he fell face first against a bathtub while we were at a hotel and busted the inside of his lip. there was blood everywhere and I freaked out and called 911. The paramedic came and looked at him and said it's okay, he's a boy and this is not the only time it will happen. He fell down our carport steps a couple weeks ago and had a big goose egg and a bruise on his forehead for several days. He's such a klutz. I always feel bad when he gets hurt, but he learns to be careful for next time.

Aislings first bump was about a month ago. she was over at my mums house while my boyfriend and I went to pick up our kitten and when we went to pick her up, my mum started talking about the evil baby who hurt Aisling. I was sitting there thinking they went out and some woman let her child go up to Aisling and hurt her. Nope! It turned out that Aisling was looking in a mirror and made a dive for it and bonked her head off the mirror. The evil baby was her reflection! lol
By the next day, the bump was pretty much gone.
