What color should I paint my new living room?

I'll be moving in a few weeks into a small-ish condo, with 3 large windows on one side. the kitchen, dining area, and living area is one big room, about 20 x 20. I'll be buying some very dark leather furniture, and a dark colored dining-pub with chairs. Also, the hardwood is an auburn color, and the cabinets in the kitchen are sort of a medium-auburn color. Since this is all in one large room, what color should I choose??? I'm so HORRIBLE at this stuff!

Merlot it would look great, or two tone it put up a cherry rail and have a Merlot on the bottom and a off white on the top. I did that in my bathroom and it looks good.

Pick a neutral color dude. that way your furniture and pictures will look a whole lot better. try beige, stone or even white if you have a lot of wall art. Even though the room is big don't shrink it by using dark colors--keep light, spacious and un-clostrophobic.

A light yellow would be pretty with your alb urn hardwood and dark leather furniture. I love the color of Navajo White, it is a neutral color and goes with just about any thing. it is sort of a cream/ecru/ like color. I have it in both my bedrooms and on my kitchen woodwork. it has been a very popular color, I have seen it in several magazines on decor. Also go with a satin latex paint, it gives a lovely soft finish. I hope this helps. I love to paint and decorate.

its really tuff , because everyone has a fav color for the walls , most realastate workers always say white or bright, but we went for a light grey with black leather furniture, it looked sharp , so have a look around and u will find your color its fun finding it ,might have to paint your wall twice we did lol

Try earthy tones, especially if you've got dark furniture and wood. Don't go too dark with your paint choice because it will make your room look dark and uninviting. try deep shades of red - they give a warm inviting look to a room. you could also coordinate the paint color with the color of your furniture and go up a few steps lighter.

A very light peach walls with a white ceiling.

I would choose a soft buttery yellow, not too bright. it will look great with the dark furniture and allow you freedom in your accessory colors. Yellow looks great with red in the fall and winter and with blue or teal in the spring and summer. Yellow, more than any other color, intensifies on the walls, so be extra careful to go light. Paint an area first and look at it in all lights before deciding. Sherwin Williams carries a line called "Illumenescence" with lots of pretty butter colors. good luck in your new condo!

Deep Red or Deep Green.
