I would like to decorate my living room. right now the furniture that I have is a black futon, black end tables, and a dining table with chairs with blue upholstery. I also have a dark green chenille blanket throw. I would like to use blue as one of the accent colors (i.e. with throw pillows or wall decor or something like that). does anyone have any suggestions as to what colors would go well together with the furniture I have right now?
Blue would work well with the black furniture. Not sure what shade of blue is on your dining chairs but it would have to blend somehow with that too...a lighter shade than the upholstery. First find a piece of art or an accent pillow that looks great then choose the shade of blue from it; I'm thinking an aqua might work or an icy blue or maybe a grayish blue. maybe something here will inspire you:

Here is a virtual room designer: Pick the room you are going to design: Living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, etc! then decorate. Change the wall colors, area rugs, ceiling colors, trim, cabinets ETC ETC ETC! it will give you a good idea on what type of style you like and what you don't like!

Well first you wanna open the space so look at the color of the blue upholstery and choose a color two shades lighter it will help the colors breath to life and open your room up and that's what you paint the walls then you look at the green of the throw you have find colors of green that match it but differ slightly so you can see a small change in green then choose pieces of vases and pillows and things to go around the room to accent the green with out drowning the blue and if you want to get crazy ad a very light purple pillow or two or even purple hydrangeas to give the room some spice and ad that kick your room is looking for. :3 have fun!
