My wife and I are remodeling. we have dark bronze stained lighting fixtures on the ceiling. Espresso stained closest doors (2). we have espresso stained dining room furniture as well. Our entertainment console was to be espresso stained. Our walls our painted a Pecan Sandie (light tan) and our one wall in the dining room is painted Bold Sangria (dark wine color). Our Bold Sangria wall has our wine bottles hanging, etc etc... It all looks great except the old '70s carpet. we would love to put in wood flooring, but not hardwood. we are looking at engineered or laminate. we live in a condo, on the first floor, so it would be over concrete... the question is, WHAT COLOR DO WE GO WITH?
quite a poser. Generally, colors should start darker at the floor and lighten as you go up. just like we see in nature. a dark base, lighter walls and a lighter color at the sky. Light colors give the illusion of making rooms look larger. Dark colors ten to make rooks cave-like. Sind the wall colors you have are bold and on the darker side, I think you might be able to create a balance by using a very light colored floor. perhaps a light bamboo ? this would also give you a better refraction and a brighter room.
See if you can get samples to bring home and put next to your things or take samples with you the home improvement center. If you want the floor to stand out go lighter. If you want a difference between floor and other woods in the room go medium. If you want everything to blend, go darker. Hope this helps. Hgtv.com might also have some ideas. Roxanne

Get some samples and take them home. You will need a special liner under the floor if it is going on concrete. Stay with a light color (honey oak) so you place doesn't look like a dungeon.
We need help picking out a floor color for the living room, dining room and hallway!?
