I dropped a glass yesterday on my wood (real wood - not veneer) dining room table -- which caused a chip that is quite large actually and rather unsightly - how do I go about repairing this? It's a cherry butcher block table (different colored strips of cherry laid down) and the chip crosses two different strips of wood - is there any hope? Thanks!
If the table doesn't have a sealer on it, but rather some kind of oil finnish, you can make a dent disappear by dampening the wood at the dent, and using a hot iron over a piece of aluminum foil, heat the area. it will cause the crushed fibers to swell up to their former size.
How to fix a chip in wood furniture?
