My husband is invoved in several major projects in our home (renovating the kitchen, upgrading heat, finishing the basement)and I don't want to give him another project but now that the weather is getting nicer I would love to make use of our yard. out the back door is a small say 5x5 piece of cement where the dog poo's. we have brand new outdoor living room set, a highbar and dining table w/6 chairs,BBQ and a firepit we got it all last year at our bridal shower and Im itchin to enjoy these thing in the yard and possible entertain.
We are not going to really build a patio or deck until next spring so I need a simple solution to creat a non perminant patio on the grassy area Im thinking about 15 foot square in size and I don't want it to be gross when it rains.
Could we put down some type of pavers with out cementing them to the ground and let the grass grow through the cracks.
Also Im thinking of it being a small afternoon project as to not send the husband over the edge!!!
I checked my catalogs but didn't see any reading that touched on nesting instinct run amok. have you tried UK?
yea you can lay temporary pavers ,,,first decide where you want it,,then measure off the area,,, drive a stake at each corner,,,stretch a string from stake to stake,,,remove all the grass,,and level the area with builders sand,, lay the pavers and tamp them to settle them in the sand,,,you might want to git 3" x 8" pavers,,,that way when you put up the deck or patio,,you can use the pavers to make a border for flower beds,,,or a walk way out to the deck or patio,,,,hey if you talking bout it being 15 square feet,,that s only bout a 3' x 5 ' area,,not big enough for all you want to put on it,,,now 15 ' x 15 ' is big enough and is not an afternoon project,,may take 2 weekends to do it,,, un less you got some help,,,also you need a wheel barrow,,shovel,,rake ,and a tamper,,,
I would put two poles in ground and attach a triangle shade cloth to them plus the house. then I would put some rectangular pots to create an edge so it becomes like an outdoor room. I would just keep the grass as the shade will keep out a fair bit of rain. Heavy rain bring the furntiure indoors.
Backyard projects/suggestions please?
